About me

Details of my professional experience can be found in my LinkedIn entry, here.

I established Morse Analytics in 2008, as a platform for working with interesting people on meaningful projects. It emerged from a lifelong interest in social enterprise, with a specific focus on data analytics, insights, modelling and software development.

From a very young age, I was immersed in computers and programming. My father rented arcade machines to pubs and clubs, and would often return from work with spares to our home in Somerset. I would avidly play Space Invaders, Pacman and other retro 80’s video games sitting in my kitchen.

Since then, I have always been keen to learn new skills. I went on to study Maths and Management Studies at Cambridge, and today continue to educate myself in software development languages and techniques.

Following university, I both worked in and set up a number of healthcare consultancies and organisations. I have always been drawn to healthcare-related engagements because of the positive impact such projects can have. My passion for social enterprise, where organisations take a business-like, sustainable approach to address social needs, led to my piloting an innovative project funding healthcare in low income villages in India through micro-finance. I have also since set up a local community café in our own village.

I have lived most of my adult life in Oxford, with my wife Helen (a qualified counsellor), our three teenage children, and an extroverted spaniel. When I’m not on a computer, I like to stay fit by playing real tennis, and stay sane by admiring trees and growing vegetables.
