Privacy Policy

Data is at the heart of services offered by Morse Analytics, so it is important that you are confident it is handled fully in line with the EU General Data Protection Regular (GDPR). I have outlined below the Morse Analytics privacy policies for personal data that I hold on clients, suppliers and partners, and also for any personal data that I am asked to process on behalf of clients. There is also a section on the privacy policy relating to use of the Morse Analytics website.

Morse Analytics may change this policy occasionally by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes.

For clients, suppliers and partners

Morse Analytics will be the ‘Controller’ of the personal data you provide to me. I only collect basic personal data about you which does not include any special types of information. This does however include name, address, email and phone numbers.

How Morse Analytics uses your data

I need to know your basic personal data in order to fulfil any contracts I have with you, and provide you with on-going organisational updates and analysis services. The lawful basis for collection of this data is considered to be as a legitimate interest.

I will not collect any personal data from you I do not need in order to provide and oversee this service to you, and no third parties have access to your personal data unless the law allows them to do so.

I am committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure I have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information I collect.

I am required under UK tax law to keep your basic personal data (name, address, contact details) for a minimum of 6 years after which time it will be destroyed at your request.

I would however like to use your name and email address to maintain communication with you about Morse Analytics services and other information I think you may find interesting. This information is not shared with third parties and you can let me know at any time via phone or email if you wish to cease receiving any further communication.

What are your rights?

If at any point you believe the information I process on you is incorrect you can request to see this information and have it corrected. If you wish to raise a complaint on how I have handled your personal data, you can contact me to have the matter investigated at martin@morseanalytics.com.

If you are not satisfied with my response or believe I am processing your personal data not in accordance with the law you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office https://ico.org.uk/.

Processing client data

Morse Analytics is frequently contracted to act as a processor of personal data on behalf of clients. In circumstances where I am commissioned to work with personal data as a ‘Processor’ when the client is the ‘Controller’, I will establish a contract between Morse Analytics and the client that will outline the following:

  • Morse Analytics will only act on the written instructions of the client;
  • Morse Analytics are subject to a duty of confidence;
  • Morse Analytics will take appropriate measures to ensure the security of processing;
  • Morse Analytics will only engage sub-processors with the prior consent of the client and under a written contract;
  • Morse Analytics will assist the client in providing subject access and allowing data subjects to exercise their rights under the GDPR;
  • Morse Analytics will assist the client in meeting its GDPR obligations in relation to the security of processing, the notification of personal data breaches and data protection impact assessments;
  • Morse Analytics will delete or return all personal data to the client as requested at the end of the contract; and
  • Morse Analytics will submit to audits and inspections, provide the client with whatever information it needs to ensure that they are both meeting their Article 28 obligations, and tell the client immediately if it is asked to do something infringing the GDPR or other data protection law of the EU or a member state.

Cookies

The Morse Analytics website uses cookies. A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer’s hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site.

The site uses traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps me analyse data about web page traffic and improve the website in order to tailor it to customer needs. I only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and no personal data is collected through this route.

Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer.

Posting comments

The Morse Analytics website offers you the opportunity to post comments about individual articles. The comment functionality “Disqus” is provided as a service from Big Head Labs, Inc., San Francisco, USA. Disqus is an interactive comment service that allows users to post comments on all websites that use the Disqus service with a single sign-on to the provider. Users can also sign-up and sign-in with existing accounts with Facebook (via Facebook Connect), Twitter, Yahoo, and OpenID. Posting comments is also possible without registration and sign-in (as “Guest”). More information about Disqus and its service can be found at http://www.disqus.com.

When posting comments, your data is processed and stored with that provider. You can access the provider’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy at http://docs.disqus.com/help/29/ and http://docs.disqus.com/help/30/, respectively.

If you sign-in to Disqus using your Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo or OpenID account, these providers may also collect, process, and store data. Please refer to the privacy policies of the respective provider for further information.

The Morse Analytics website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave the site, you should note that I do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, I cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement.
